The Ripple Effect

Summary: In the third chapter of Chase the Lion, the main topic is about encounters. We are all one encounter or one move away from fulfilling our inception like destiny.   Don't be too quick to judge a blessing or a curse by its cover.  Mismanaged success is the leading cause of failure. Well managed failure is the leading cause of success. You need to step out into faith and believe that you can't steal second if your foot is still on first. Take a leap of faith to encounter others with potential that you might help them discover their dream as well as yours.  The main plot of this chapter is about the ripple effect; the main topic of this book is about a scripture passage about Benaiah's journey to kill a lion on a snowy day. Benaiah later became King David's head of security(a dream within a dream). The ripple effect comes in when Rahab thousands of years earlier took in Jewish refugees who later spared her life. She was King David's great-great-grandm...

A Dream Within a Dream

Summary:  In the second chapter of Chase the Lion,  we come to the Wright brothers and how they had a dream that was actually inspired by there dads interest in birds. They later came to be the first humans to fly.  Inception is another topic in how we are to perceive our dreams. Inception is a dream within a dream within a dream, in our non-fiction life we can look and see that as a sign that our dream necessarily doesn't come from us. God can expose our dreams to us through other individuals.  For the Wright brothers, it was a book they read when they were 29. It could be your parents, teachers, or coaches dream. It comes down to how you interact with other people, life is about relationships you never know who may plant a dream in you that is waiting to be revealed.  Our greatest legacy isn't our dream. Our greatest legacy is the next generation of dreamers that out dreams inspire--the dreams within a dream. The energy we spend on cr...

Chase The Lion

Summary: In the first chapter of Chase the Lion, it speaks of a mighty warrior back in the time of David when he was ruling king. This mighty warrior was Benaiah, and he chased a lion into a pit on a snowy day. His actions on this day is the main theme of the book. You have to imagine yourself chasing a lion into a snowy pit to kill it. How insane do you have to be to do that? In a way, this true story is a parable for our lives in how we should treat that lion like a big dream. There are two types of courage; regular courage and two-o-clock in the morning courage. The two-o-clock in the morning courage has a sense of urgency and crazy to it. We are all one action, one risk, or one decision away from a life-altering moment. At times we are so busy climbing the ladder of success that we fail to realize that it is leaning against the wrong wall. Most people believe in God, but they continue to allow circumstances to get between them and God instead of letting God get b...

FIRST BOOK: Chase The Lion, (5 keys to look for while reading)

Welcome to A Chapter A Day! The first book we will be diving into will be Chase the Lion by Mark Batterson Some things to look into when reading any book; Treat the book as a companion for growth, not as a tool to be used once and put down. Don't just "see" the material but continue to come back to refresh our thoughts. Look at the book as a leading/teaching opportunity. After reading a chapter or something that strikes as important, teach that specific quote or passage to someone close to you so it will be retained in your mind. Start a List. Begin to compile a list of all your favorite quotes that tug at you while reading, this will not only get you engrained into the subject of the book but also help retain those quotes for future use in a situation where you can lead/teach someone. Growth Mindset. Explore different books that have hard subjects that you may not necessarily agree with by doing this you may better educate yourself. By educating yourself, you ...

Starting A Chapter A Day!

Hello, my name is Ry Adams and I am an avid book reader. I love to explore personal growth and self-help books. The point of this blog is to get all my collective thoughts down in one common area. If someone happens to read these blogs then good for them. I will be reading at least one chapter a day of a certain book of my choosing and this blog is more accountability for me to constantly alter the way I perceive books. Not only perceive them in a way of the normal individual but to ask questions and pursue a growth mindset. For me to read each book while being interactive with it as well. Through this blog, I will write all my findings, favorite quotes, and questions. Thanks, to those who read them. A Chapter A Day starts today!! -Ry Adams
