The Templeton Plan is written for those who consider themselves students in the school of total success. It is suggested that you devote yourself to one step each day, over a period of three weeks, Each step should be studied carefully until the following questions can be answered in a satisfactory and thorough manner:
- What do these ideas really mean?
- How do they apply to my own life?
- How can I use their meaning in achieving success?
Step 9: Utilizing Two Principles of Success
- Practice honesty and perseverance
- Perseverance in all of your daily activities leads to the formation of an orderly mind instead of one that is full of loose ends. It leads to a mind that is purposeful and capable of planning ahead. It leads ultimately to success in life because the habit of sticking to a given task, having now taken an interior form, helps you convey facts more accurately and quickly.
- Honesty is the way you interact with people around you and those you have close relations with. Through honest relationships, not promising too much or underutilizing your current ability, we can become honest to others on what our skill sets are that will contribute to the team, family, or company.
Points to Consider:
- Successful people finish what they begin. Be sure to think carefully before you take on a task, but, once you start it, complete it with thoroughness, energy, and resolve.
- Handle all of your business relationships--and particularly other peoples money--as sacred trust.
